Dear Diary,
August 2022: Yesterday was really full. I woke up thinking that I would enjoy some soap making. It was a really good day in that I finally tackled a long awaited project, and made 5 bars of Oatmeal and Lavender Shea Soap Bars. So, that was good.
Meanwhile, I prepared to make two big loaves of Lilac Soap. I had an idea in my head of how it would go. After I melted the hard oils, mixed in the soft oils, and blended/cooled the lye water, I was ready to make the soap at last! Only — hmmm — there was one problem: it was time to go to work at my cleaning job! Well, the soap making had to wait.
Hours later, tired as I was, I was home again and I made the Lilac Soap, however I decided to change it up a bit.
The bottom layer of each loaf was made with lilac scent, but the top layer was made with orange essential oil, and the top was also poured and swirled in a few interesting colors. I simple can’t wait to see these cut! But in typical soap artisan reality, you have to wait.

Well, I went to bed, and this is what I woke up to in the morning:
The two soap loaves have definitely lighted up, and I can smell the bright juicy orange essential oil all through the top! Once I cut it, I should be able to catch the lilac scent too, which is sort of “hiding” at the moment, below to top layer. I am eager and excited to cut this soap and see the swirl inside! But as I said, I’ve got to be patient. More later…

September 2022: Well, it’s been quite a lot of weeks since I added an entry to my diary, but that really makes sense when you think about it. I mean, soap isn’t ready overnight — that’s for sure! I did forget to write about the soap cut though, so here it is:
I personally think it turned out great! Nice scent and a pretty result — even “elegant” in appearance I think we could say. These have been curing for many weeks now, so it’s almost time to wrap them and make them available to all those great Lathers for Life soap fans!

Dear Diary,
Today is October 9th, my 11-year-wedding-anniversary. That’s right! 11 years! Time flies.
Well, I just thought I’d stop by here to “tell you” that the soap bars are ready to for customers to order! I will be standing by ready to fill their requests for these and other skin-loving soaps!
